Technology meets tradition

At Qubs, we’re reimagining the way kids learn through play by integrating timeless fun with cutting-edge technology. Central to this is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), a technology that’s reshaping how children interact with toys and, more importantly, how they play and grow.

Peek under the hood

Our technology

At QUBS, we’re reimagining the way children learn through play by integrating timeless fun with cutting-edge technology. Central to this is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), a technology that’s reshaping how children interact with toys and, more importantly, how they learn.

RFID explained

What exactly is RFID?

RFID is a wireless communication technology, similar to how contactless payment works. Just like a credit card’s hidden tag communicates with a terminal, Cody Block uses RFID to connect the toy with the blocks, enabling seamless, invisible interaction.

Cody and RFID

Each City Block contains a passive RFID tag, holding specific commands like “turn left” or “stop.” Cody reads these commands using an antenna, making each interaction a real-time coding experience. This allows kids to witness the outcome of their coding-like sequences without visible buttons or electronics - just traditional wooden blocks.

Safety and innovation

We’ve integrated RFID into Cody Block with safety and innovation at the forefront. Our RFID technology is entirely safe for young hands, with all components thoroughly tested for reliability and safety. Parents can rest assured that Cody Block is free of any hazardous materials, and the robust design means our products can withstand years of enthusiastic play.

Beyond safety, our innovative use of RFID enables seamless, magical interaction. No batteries are required in the blocks, and the play experience is uninterrupted by the need for screens, cables, or complex interfaces. Everything is intuitive, promoting independent exploration and learning.

THE journey of rfid in toys

how it began

Our journey with RFID began with a bold idea: adapting technology from sectors like retail into children’s toys. After overcoming challenges such as extending RFID’s range and ensuring safe frequencies, we developed a patented system that allows Cody to listen and remember commands, creating a smooth, magical play experience.

The Future of RFID at Qubs

We’re excited to push the boundaries of wooden toys, with RFID leading the way. Our goal is to create more advanced, interactive experiences that blend technology, imagination, and learning in new and exciting ways.

Our vision for rfid

We aim to create a fun and exciting new world of play for kids, parents and educators with RFID embedded in timeless, lovely wood.

Educational impact

Cody Block is more than a fun toy. It teaches kids essential concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Each block becomes a lesson in coding and logical thinking. Kids learn how to create sequences, predict outcomes, and follow commands—all through active play.

As kids arrange blocks, they’re introduced to fundamental coding principles. They make decisions, experiment with different outcomes, and observe how their choices affect Cody’s actions. This tangible introduction to coding nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning.
